Glendale is the city where I was raised and the city where I have chosen to raise my family. Following my graduation from Glendale High School, I attended Occidental College where I attained a B.A. in Mathematics and an M.A. in Mathematics Education. After teaching in K-12 for a number of years, I pursued a Ph.D. in Education from UCLA and worked/taught in higher education (UCLA, LMU and Occidental College) for twelve years. In 2018, I made the transition back to K-12 and worked as an administrator at the Orange County Department of Education for several years. Currently I am the Secondary Mathematics Specialist at GUSD. In addition to my educational career, I was elected to the school board in South Pasadena -the city where I lived prior to returning to Glendale. During my six-year tenure on the school board, I served as the School Board Clerk and eventually as the School Board President. I was named Congressional Woman of the Year by Rep. Judy Chu.
