Biography
I eventually made my way to the United States after earning my MBA Degree to fulfill the American Dream. I then chose to continue my education in the United States, where I earned a Certificate of Computerized Bookkeeping from SCROC (Southern California Regional Occupational Center, followed by a second MBA from Cal. State University Dominquez Hills, CA and a Certificate of Accounting Award through UCLA Extension.
Over 24 years ago, I accepted a position at American Honda Motor, Co, Inc. (”AHM”) and currently work as a Senior Financial Analyst and North America Project Systems Lead in the Financial Planning & Analysis Department (FP&A). Before this position, I was an auditor a AHM in the Treasury Department of AHM. During that time of my career, I audited hundreds of Honda and Acura dealers nationwide.
Among my few career highlights, I have represented American Honda in a successful lawsuit and was awarded the Challenging Spirit Award from the President and CEO of the company for my involvement in the NH Circle Virtual Runoff (a company-sponsored program to solve problems and improve processes).
On the community service side, currently, I am chairman to the Planning Commission, Vice Chair to the Independent Citizens’ Oversight Committee, Board of Director for Torrance Education Foundation, and captain of local USTA (United States Tennis Association) tennis team. Prior to the Planning Commission, I have served in the Civil Service & Library Commissions.
Jill & I recently celebrated 26 years anniversary & we are blessed with two beautiful children.

Balancing Budget
As a Sr. Financial Analyst at American Honda Motor Co., Inc. ("AHM") one of my roles is to analyze spending of mutliple divisions of Amrerican Honda. Prior to this role, I was an auditor in the Treasury Department of AHM. With my professional experience, I am ready to work with City Staff to focus on retention of existing businesses. I pledge on working very closely with the Economic Development Department to bring more stable businesses with high paying jobs in our city.
Homelessness
Enforcement of Anti Camping Ordinance to curb homelessness
Homelessness Is a very complex issue - whether you are homeless, at risk of being homeless or are concerned about folks who are unhoused that are taking up residence in our parks, business areas or near our homes.
Torrance and other communities are severely limited in what it can do because of a court case entitled Martin vs. Boise which states emphatically that anti-camping ordinances CANNOT be enforced if the city does not have an available bed for homeless folks.
Any effort to move an unhoused individual from public property sets the city up for financial liability. Private citizens and businesses can have unhoused individuals removed from their property. But, they must be willing to legally prosecute the offender for trespass.
The city is creating transitional housing in little portable homes near TPD HQ and the Court House. The location is not perfect, and I’m not sure there is a perfect place.
But, I pledge - with your help - to seek and find a better location using my business, social and community involvement
Public Safety
Public Safety Priority Number One
Torrance is one of the safest cities nationwide, however, I believe that there is still room for improvement. To better equip law enforcement and other public safety agencies, I am committed to expand investments in new technologies in order to have safe neighborhoods, schools, and streets. I will partner up with law enforcement agencies to enhance public safety and keep our kids safe in public schools.

My Top 3 Priorities
- Safe - Fight to keep Torrance Residents Safe, this means providing TPD & TFD fully functioning - Enforcing anti camping ordinance to get the homeless the help they need.
- Clean - Update infrastructure & beautify medians - work with local Youth organizations to help clean up our parks and streets, it will help the youth to get involved in the Pride of Torrance.
- Balanced - No more over spending, fight the over development coming to our city as well, we have many vacancies we must fill before we add more, as well, we must fix our infrastructure.

Biography
I’m a 4th generation Californian, and I grew up in the South Bay. We moved to Torrance when I was 13 years old, I graduated from South High School in 1978. I worked in various jobs, until about 24 years ago, when I embarked on my small real estate business while raising my 2 children, both of whom also graduated from South high school. I moved to District 3 in October 2019. My job as a leader of our Real estate team gives me ample time to be a fully available Councilwoman.

Political Beliefs
Political Philosophy
I believe in the common sense approach. Not spending more than we bring in. I believe we don't need to tax the residents. It's our job as council to find ways of bringing in revenue and keeping money local. ie. infra structure, working with county and state officials to give us our fair share of the money. Parents have the right to decide what their students learn, not the schools. The parents need more say, the boys & Girls teams should be just that. I believe a boy transitioning to a girl to be a better athlete is cheating. Period. I believe whole heartedly in the 2nd amendment, and I actually hope that Torrance Chief of Police, sets up a department just to streamline the CCW Process. I believe in GOD, our Country and family. We must work together to bring our families together and be a community again.
