Experience

Biography

As a single dad who raised two sons and a long-time small business owner in the Bay Area, I understand the issues families and communities face as we recover from the pandemic.

In Congress, my priority is ensuring your voice and values are represented. My guiding principle is: I work for you. I’ve responded to over 700,000 constituent inquiries, helped more than 8,600 residents with federal issues, and hosted 163 town halls. I am proud the Congressional Management Foundation recognized our office as a model in Congress for excellence in constituent service, transparency, and accountability.

In a highly partisan environment, I've found common sense solutions – successfully passing 30 initiatives into law and 84 measures in the U.S. House.

As a public servant, I’ve prioritized local projects that improve our quality of life and make responsible budget choices with taxpayers’ hard-earned money including: balancing California’s budget, establishing the fourth bore of the Caldecott Tunnel, securing funding for eBART and traffic relief projects like the Highway 4 expansion and the 680 corridor, or holding government accountable when millions were wasted on the Bay Bridge.

I’m running for re-election to move our nation forward by: lowering inflation; reducing health care costs; addressing the coronavirus pandemic; overseeing the largest infrastructure investment in modern history; helping students receive a quality education without being shackled by debt, protecting Social Security; safeguarding the environment; and ensuring government is accountable to you.
